Pop Whalen Ice Arena
Banwell Architects was hired by The Friends of Pop Whalen to provide marketing materials in their quest to raise approximately $3,500,000 to renovate and expand upon the existing Hockey Rink in Wolfeboro, NH.
Alterations include a new relocated Entry, a re-worked and renovated Lobby Space, including Skate-Shop and Snack Bar, and new seating and storage within the Rink area.
The existing structure currently utilizes two locker room spaces in the Lobby, and 4 locker rooms that are so small that teams are assigned 2 rooms per game. A new Locker Room wing will remedy these deficiencies by housing 8 new team rooms, including 4 Varsity Locker Rooms for the 2 local school programs that call Pop Whalen Home.
Fund-raising is set to start in the Summer of 2020
