Cardigan Mountain School – McCusker Dorm
Banwell Architects developed an overall master plan for the placement of the recently completed McCusker Hall. Located at the south end of the campus, the $5 million, 16,000 square foot building adds 14 dormitory rooms and 4 faculty apartments to accommodate new living space on campus. The building includes a shared common space on both levels overlooking the Marrion Athletic fields at the heart of the campus. The roof lines serve as a counterpoint to Clark Morgan Hall across the fields quad and the material choices are reminiscent of the schools vernacular. The building also served as a way to develop design guidelines for all future dorms on campus.
